I'm Professor Gooch, your instructor for Intro to American Gov't: S & F, PSC 142. I hope you all will find this class to be a rewarding experience as we work our way through the various aspects, institutions, and theories of American and Texas Government. I want you to feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns you have about the class 24/7.Don't forget to check out the blog for current political events and analysis of class-related topics.
There are three major components to the instructional material for the class: 1) Lecture Notes and 2) the Kernell & Jacobsen text, The Logic of American Politics, and 3) the Collier et. al. book, Lonestar Politics. All three will be intergal for taking and, of course, passing the exams. The Lectures will be posted on the D2L (Desire 2 Learn) page for the course, with this page serving as a backup/alternate site for materials should D2L be experiencing technical difficulties. However, DO NOT rely exclusively on the power points, as my lectures include additional information not contained on these presentations. Class attendance is intergal to success and also required. Good luck!
