I'm Professor Gooch, your instructor for American Government POLSC 2003. I hope you all will find this
class to be a rewarding experience as we work our way through the various aspects, institutions, and
theories of American Government. I want you to feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns you
have about the class 24/7. There are three major components to the instructional material for the class:
1) Lecture Notes 2) the Kernell & Jacobsen book. and 3) the Kernell & Smith Reader. These will be intergal
for taking and, of course, passing the exams. The course materials will also be made available as they are
needed throughout the semester on Blackboard. Be sure you have self-enrolled on Blackboard, as I will be
making annoucements and sending e-mails using that interface. Good luck!
