I'm Professor Gooch, your instructor for State & Local Government, POLS 3033. I hope you all will find this
class to be a rewarding experience as we work our way through the various aspects, institutions, and
theories of American Government at the state and local level. I want you to feel free to e-mail me with any
questions or concerns you have about the class 24/7. There are three major components to the instructional
material for the class: 1) Lecture Notes 2) the Dye & McManus book. and 3) the Rosenthal book.
These will be intergal for taking and, of course, passing the exams. Class attendance is intergal to success.
